Restaurant Wang Town, Kepong
Without he asking us where go, he directed us where to turn...
So eventually we in Kepong nearby the Proton showroom (Carrefour side)
I thought it's another kopitiam wannabe...
Good enough, is a small restaurant....
[caption id="attachment_960" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="*correction - RESTAURANT Wang Town*"][/caption]
Ok, I shall amend at the menu is "Restaurant".
Eventually, is a Teochew cuisine restaurant...
They do serve porridge as well if you don't intend to take rice...
They are more to the braised items (eg: duck, chicken, pork)
However we ordered 4 dishes just nice for 3pax.
Quite like the bowl which they use for rice....
[caption id="attachment_962" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Nice looking bowl of rice"][/caption]
Pretty tradition eh?
My dad ordered his favourite dish (as I assumed)
Seong Tong Lala....
[caption id="attachment_961" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Seong Tong Lala"][/caption]
As I did mention I'm not a big fan for this dish....
However, I did tried on their soup...
It's bit different as in they didn't put much of the Chinese Wine and yet, they added in herbs.
Next, braised duck...
For the first look, I realized that the meat was kind of dry...
[caption id="attachment_963" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Loh Duck (Braised Duck)"][/caption]
Good enough, when I have the first bite, it's tender...
Just a few pieces were though....
The sauce was little but least not salty...
Good to go with rice or porridge.
I lurve this dish!
Braised Fish with Pork....(how weird is that?)
[caption id="attachment_964" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Braised Fish with Pork"][/caption]
Is something different...
I thought it might taste weird...
But believe me, is superb yummylicious!
I so lurve the gravy as it's not salty, not too sweet...
How shall I define it? .....DELICIOUSFABULICIOUS!
However, this dish turns me off immediately!
I ordered Four Heavenly Kings (long beans, bottled beans, lady fingers, brinjals and Petai)
I can't recall this dish have brinjals....
[caption id="attachment_965" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Four Heavenly Kings"][/caption]
Also, it supposed to stir fried with sort of crispy chili/sambal...
Not with tauchu (not sure how to call it)
I totally dislike this dish due to the tauchu taste...
And also.....
For this gawd reason!
[caption id="attachment_966" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Oily Kings!"][/caption]
It's so so so oily!
I felt so suffering to try to finish this dish though....
Lucky enough...
There's other dishes to wash all those oil in my mouth down.
Will definitely not ordering this dish at all!
Great dinner though.
$ - RM61
Price Range : RM5 - RM20++
Good For : Family Dinner
Bad For: The portion is only sufficient for 3 pax

Ninja Joe @ Tropicana City Mall
Well, you might can find in HK/China/Thailand's McD or some other brands...
But in Malaysia hardly (do let me know if there's any other spots!)
Ok, this particular shop is in Tropicana City Mall, LG...
Is in RED colour if you not too sure....
I did read about this place before, they stated that the burger is too small (for a guy/big eater)
Even when you at the counter, it stated different prices (as in the "packages")
[caption id="attachment_952" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Wrappers"][/caption]
Ok I chose the original burger for a try...
See the size of it....
[caption id="attachment_953" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Original Burger"][/caption]
Spot the meat....
[caption id="attachment_954" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Inner Part of the burger"][/caption]
Wait for it......
Wait for it.................
Tada!!!!
[caption id="attachment_955" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Here\'s the pork!"][/caption]
Small isn't it?
However, for the taste, is just nice...
Not too salty or tasteless...
Best part, doesn't have the pork smell (thank god)
My sis ordered the sweet & sour type....
[caption id="attachment_957" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Sweet & Sour Burger"][/caption]
Good enough, it was not soggy over the gravy....
And the taste is not to bad for burger too... hard to describe though.
Ok, is good for a try....
But for a heavy meal, might head over to McD (HALAL though...)
$ - RM10.10 (plus tax)
Price Range: RM 5.50 (1 Burger)
RM 9.90 (2 Burgers)
...and so on.... (forgot about the prices)
Good For: Pork Lurver, Small Eater
Bad For: Big Eater! - not really value for the price

Restaurant Tasty Pot @ I-City, Shah Alam
Alright, I did blog about this place (or shall I say the branch in Sunway)
Eventually we went to I-City on last Tuesday....
My dear told me that if I want to have steamboat, we could have it at Tasty Pot.
[caption id="attachment_941" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Signage"][/caption]
Straight I crossed with her....
As you might recall, I did mention before that Tasty Pot steamboat, not that tasty at all....
Oh well, it's late night....
We are in Shah Alam...
Can't make too much noise right?
Trust me, when we start eating, I don't even know it was bout 11pm...(so much for the dinner...)
Alright, I head over to get stuff to be in the pot....
One side vege, noodles....
[caption id="attachment_942" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Vege section"][/caption]
Good nuff, fresh vege served.
Next...
Ingredients for the pot...
I head straight to the seafood section...
Mind me, say I'm kiasu or whatsoever!
Pay for that price, of course aim for the value of it....
However, I'm just the fan of fish....
[caption id="attachment_944" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Seafood!"][/caption]
But if I didn't take the crabs here...
I shall be the fool.....
[caption id="attachment_945" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Crabs, Prawns!"][/caption]
The crabs' claws were big, and fresh!
I had like 6? (yes I know I gone way over border!)
Right..
They even serve BBQ items....
I didn't know they have lamb till the guy ask me want to have a piece for try...
[caption id="attachment_946" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Grilled Lamb"][/caption]
I think the meat was on the grill too long...
It's so chewy and as my sis said,"my jaw is numb...."
Same goes to the grilled fish...
[caption id="attachment_947" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Grilled Fish"][/caption]
I nearly bent the fork and spoon!
The fish was fresh but it just too hard!
Due to my sis doesn't like vegetables...
And due to I care so much about her health...
I show my lurve to her by this....
[caption id="attachment_948" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Pot with Vege"][/caption]
Yep, I'm a good sis!
The soup was so yummylicious after boiled with crabs...
Seriously, it was so tasty!
Ok, my dear lurve this the most...
Grilled clams with fried shallot!
[caption id="attachment_949" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Grilled Clams with fried shallot"][/caption]
Add in little bit of sambal, Voila!
Great seafood!
Right...
Is obvious that I prefer to eat here more?
I not sure is it too new? (they just opened this month)
I seriously enjoy eating here more than in Sunway branch (I even told the boss that!)
Tsk~
$ - RM 26.80/pax
Price Range: Stated above
Good For: Nice fresh steamboat
Bad For: All the way to I-City!

Cha Pan Mee (Deep Fried Pan Mee), Ara Damansara
I've discovered there's a pan mee stall which sell CHA PAN MEE (Deep Fried Pan Mee)...
Despite my colleague the one drove us for lunch (they work like years with the company)
They not aware about this type of pan mee.
[caption id="attachment_938" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Cha Pan Mee Loh Mee"][/caption]
I had for the first time and I just lurve the taste!
The next day, my colleagues started to order that!
You don't need to order LARGE (if you are hungry...)
The portion is LARGE enough to fill up your grumbling tummy!
However one thing amazed me that...
The Cha Pan Mee can go as Fish Head Noodle as well!
[caption id="attachment_937" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Cha Pan Mee Fish Head Noodle"][/caption]
The taste is just marvelous if I could use that word!
Is hard to describe but is better to dine in there rather than pack back...
I did tapao though but the taste is not as good as eating at there!
This type of noodle, became my favourite lunch meal!
Can't really say where is this coffeeshop located, is at the corner side nearby Taipan?
:P
$ - RM4.50/bowl
Price Range : RM 4 (for normal pan mee) RM 4.50 (for cha pan mee)
Good For : Full-filling lunch meal
Bad For : It will sold out fast if it's too late!

Chef & Brew, Bukit Damansara
I was here during my friend's birthday on May...
Since Father's day my sis and I would like to celebrate with my dad....
I told my sis, about this place as the food WAS not that bad.
She was pretty excited as she heard about this place before...
So we made reservation and gave my dad a surprise.
INDEED. <--- something happened.
Thank goodness we made reservation as it was quite packed up that night...
Yes, Father's Day is BIG DAY as well alright... I GOT IT.
While we were waiting to get our orders...
I was having FUN to snap this place mat specially for Father's Day...
I seriously got no idea what with the birds, but is quite cute... (it'll look nice as book wrapper though)
- Nice place mat, but no idea what with the birds
Just a little snap on the serviette with their logo....
Alright camera aside...
Time to order....!
Our drinks....
As my sister said, that's the best Ice Lemon Tea she ever had....
I got my lime juice up to my chill bone... sourish max!
I ordered their recommended appetizer...
Chili Lamb....
This is so good... good to have it with rice or even least a toast bread!
I tried this when I first came on May, is so astonishing!
Well, is quite pricey for the portion though, RM16.90 for one plate... (grr!!!)
Right...
Here comes the main course.... (yes, MAIN COURSE)
We did ordered our soups respectively, but it didn't came after the main courses... HAH!
I ordered the Teriyaki Spring Chicken as I ordered their spring chicken with abalone before...
And I afraid to get that TASTE again....
Sadly, I wonder why I don't just get strike jackpot or something....
This plate that I ordered, is so so so so so so (x100) freaking SALTY!
Yes. S.A.L.T.Y!
I only ate the fries (that also not being soaked in the gravy....)
And a carrot....
Seriously, it was so salty I wonder did they mistaken salt is sugar?
Honestly no matter how bad a food is/was/were (whatever grammar I should use)...
I will finish the food, but this one, I even finish up my drink and even asked for water!
I gave my sis just a piece of the drumstick, she ate one bite and gave it back to me as it was salty.
I made a complaint to the waiter....
I asked him, "I wonder if this meal to be served in this way, as is VERY SALTY"
Good enough, he offered me to change my order to something else....
Believe me, I already lost my taste bud...
I asked him to recommend to me and I got a Aglio Olio...
What can go wrong with this right?
What did it went wrong .....again?
I thought Aglio Olio should be dry... or I guess there should be gravy?
Oh well, is not like soaked it up like carbonara or bolognese style....
Over olive oil added I guess, and I just ate da spaghetti instead with da mushrooms and the ingredients...
Cos... S.A.L.T.Y
SALT went on sale is it?
I had a few bites in my dad's Nyonya's Spring Chicken...
Is fried, look like KFC though...
But less oil, for me is just fine...
My dad was complaining that the chicken tasteless, as if they used it to boil soup then serve...
I'm not aware of the taste as my mouth have enough salt to add in tasteless meat!
Well, least that ease my throat a little bit!
My sis had the Black Pepper Lamb Shank
Is a heavy portion as they served with mashed potatoes...
- Guess her this meal is fine?
Can't define much as my taste bud been ruined.
Comes to soup....
It came 5 mins after our main course...
So least I can taste the soup before it got ruined...
Good, not too thick and creamy...
Just bit tasteless (I guess all the salt went into main courses!)
My dad had the seafood chowder....
Same, not too creamy, not too bad either.
My sis had mushroom soup....
She said is good...
Wait till she try the one in Coffee Ritual, that's superb!
Right...
There was a guy sitting opposite our table...
Ordered the same Teriyaki Chicken as I did (I think)
I can't resist not to snap his picture and share it here...
As I salute him, he ate up the whole plate of chicken!
My mouth was too numb...
Ended up I had this to wash my mouth....
Am I grumbling too much now?

Cristang, Plaza 8 Avenue
We are supposed to find Pan Bakery but too bad (for don't know what reason) is not open on Saturday...
We walked around the area and found that this restaurant was full house (not like a lot of restaurant there, but least out of 2, this is packed!)
When you first step in, you may sense that is a family restaurant....
Don't ask my how could I have the aura (despite there's kids, senior citizens around)...
Right, basically in their menu there's west meet locals (as in Portu...)
[caption id="attachment_908" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Menu"][/caption]
Since we not really in the budget, so we just ordered what we can afford to munch...
My sis and I ordered ice tea (refillable) which cost us RM5 each...
[caption id="attachment_909" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Ice Tea"][/caption]
My ICE melted before it arrive to me, and even they gave 1 shot glass of sugar...
Yet, the tea still don't taste sweet even though I poured all the sugar in....
The tea not strong enough, ya, bit diluted.
For appetizer my dear ordered mashed potato (her favourite....)
The potato will goes well with meat or poultry as is not that salty....
For a person who don't/can't take beef, this portion serve with bacon...
[caption id="attachment_910" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Mashed Potato"][/caption]
My dear got to scoop all out so me and my sis can eat...
However (bless me Kun Yam), I did munched few bits....
Wonder, is that how bacon bit should taste like?
Hard?
My dear ordered the Portu noodle...
Looks like Penang's Hainam Mee....
[caption id="attachment_911" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Portuguese Noodle"][/caption]
Indeed taste like one too...
Sadly, my dear not really into mee especially when they taste of "gan sui" - go figure
So I change mine to hers as I thought I could bare the taste...
NOT!
I nearly puke cos the taste was too strong....
But I just keep quiet and I can feel my mouth feel numb (can't describe the feeling)
Maybe I should ask them to change it rather than gulp the whole plate in... eak~~~
My sis ordered their soup noodle (can't recall the specific name)
I was wondering why the taste so familiar...
Can't say is Curry Mee.... can't say is assam...
Hah... otak otak!
[caption id="attachment_912" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Portuguese Noodle Soup"][/caption]
It's so otak otak taste, and I think they put coconut milk as well?
I had bihun (ain't sure why I keep having bihun each meal!)
Least something I'm happy to have with....
[caption id="attachment_913" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Fried Bihun ala Portuguese style"][/caption]
Good choice for the night (lucky me)
Right...
We ordered otak otak to share...
[caption id="attachment_914" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Otak Otak served with crackers"][/caption]
One thing different is they serve with crackers/biscuits (whichever you find it's suitable)
Is good to eat it with crackers or least rice, but it will be very salty to have it just like that.
Maybe their main course (pasta/meat/poultry) will taste much better?
Or maybe I don't know how to eat Portuguese meal?
Don't think so.

:: Take A Break ::
Like in one day, there will be like 3-4 blogs....
WHY?
Cos I've been neglecting my this blog for about 2 months now...
As said, I was back from HCM like 2 months ago, and now only I blog about it!
So let me take a breath before I start again....
*panting*
I got like another.... ermmm.... 6 places to blog (to be up to date)
Right...
This was the dinner I made for like... a week ago? Or 2 weeks ago?
[caption id="attachment_904" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="My Dinner"][/caption]
Ya simple and nice... I KNOW HOW TO COOK OK!
~Tsk tsk tsk...~
NEXT!!!
Hai Lam Kopitiam, Kepong
My dad called my sis and I for lunch....
So since we got no idea what to eat, he reckon us to eat Hailam Mee....
He lead the way....
And I'm like... "Ark?! Here?"
You see, there's lot of KOPITIAMS mushrooming around KL/Selangor....
From Oldtown to Station 1 (yes,is Kopitiam to me), Uncle Lim, Pak Hailam.... (go and and on and on)
Which one actually, is good to eat and not just for commercial
[caption id="attachment_894" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Menu"][/caption]
I found the table tent one item very attractive...
The Roti Paun, highly recommend (they sounded like we will grab for more after one bite...)
Indeed.
[caption id="attachment_902" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Roti Paun"][/caption]
You see, the roti actually is quite small (trust me, it just fit in your mouth in one go!)
Yet, is very....(and I emphasize..again...) VERY soft.
Can't recall is it RM2/plate of 4pcs... but is good!
Alright, how can you be in Kopitiam without ordering half boiled egg and toast bread eh?
[caption id="attachment_896" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Toast bread with half boiled eggs"][/caption]
A custom? Tsk~
My dad ordered Hailam Mee for himself...
Seriously, it was not too bad!
[caption id="attachment_895" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Hailam Mee"][/caption]
Oh well, can't blame me for being negative (for a moment)
Good enough the yellow noodle doesn't taste "gan sui" - can't figure how to define in English,
My sis ordered their thai fried rice (if I'm not wrong - my dad reckon)
[caption id="attachment_897" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Thai Fried Rice"][/caption]
They are not stingy with their prawns, something that I LIKE!
The fragrance is good too though and not too small portion too! (can't say is BIG cos my sis is small eater)
I settled myself with fried bihun ala tomyum style...
Lucky enough, the bihun is not dry (I'd been choked with dried bihun for few times)
[caption id="attachment_898" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Fried Tom Yum Bihun"][/caption]
Is very appetizing for this meal, not sure is it because sourish (no worry, is not that SOUR-sourish)
Yummylicious!
They even have dessert, I think it was RM4.90/bowl?
Don't worry, for this dessert the price is good with the ingredients given.
[caption id="attachment_899" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Dessert"][/caption]
They have 3 choices, I can't recall which one did my sis and I ordered though :P
Not too sweet so is good!
However, for kopitiam, is individual perspective...
I might tried a nice one here, but maybe other's not....?
As my dad said, some of the food in the menu are good, some are not...
So... choose wisely!
But it was a good lunch!
$ - RM45+ (can't remember) - I know tai pai tong will be cheaper, but this was fine too!
Price Range : RM 2 - RM 10++
Good For: Not too bad hawker food-wannabe~
Bad For: Hawkers food but charge more - environment ok!
