T.Bowl, Queensbay Mall @ Penang

How often will a person...
Eat, in the toilet?
Or... sit on the toilet bowl and eat?
Or... eat inside the toilet bowl?

I sounds insane? Yuck? Disgusting?

I 'm not kidding.

Welcome to T.Bowl in Queensbay Mall.

[caption id="attachment_193" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="T.Bowl = Toilet Bowl!"]T.Bowl = Toilet Bowl![/caption]

[caption id="attachment_192" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Toilet Toilet... BOWL!"]Toilet Toilet... BOWL![/caption]

How do I know about this place?
My mum and sis went over this place about a week ago...
It was recommended to my mum by my sis....
So, when I got to know bout this place...
I insist to check this "jamban" out!

It's not a big restaurant, more likely for teenagers place to hang out...
But surprisingly, there were few families there and few couples of uncles and aunties too!

So what so unique about this place?
Do you sit on your toilet seat to eat?
Or maybe at your sink?
Look at this.....

[caption id="attachment_194" align="alignnone" width="225" caption=""Table and Chair""]"Table and Chair"[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_221" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Table and chairs"]Table and chairs[/caption]

Some people might finds it disgusting to sit on the toilet and eat...
But some might just enjoy it!

[caption id="attachment_197" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Eat Eat Eat!"]Eat Eat Eat![/caption]

For their menu it's kind of unique...

[caption id="attachment_229" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="This is the menu"]This is the menu[/caption]

If my partner didn't do an action...
I didn't know there's something attached to it...

[caption id="attachment_231" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="A toothbrush!"]A toothbrush![/caption]

There's a toothbrush at the side of the menu!

For their items..
They used well with Chinese Language or with some of the English...
As we known, Toast in Cantonese is "Toh-Si" their "Si" was simplied to be "SHIT" in Chinese Character...
And one the example...

[caption id="attachment_199" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="One of the item"]One of the item[/caption]

From the picture, just normal rice of course...!

We ordered some of the items from the menu....
They are more famous for their Cheese Baked Rice...
So we ordered 3 types of Cheese Baked Rice...
Chicken Chop, Black Pepper Chicken and not sure what did my BIL ordered!

[caption id="attachment_237" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Cheese Baked Rice"]Cheese Baked Rice[/caption]

It's really way too cheesy for me, but it tasted good!

My mum ordered a bowl of porridge...
Well, presentation was good...
But it tasted burnt.

[caption id="attachment_236" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Porridge (Theng Zai Chuk)"]Porridge (Theng Zai Chuk)[/caption]

My sisters were saying that should be the taste of that not sure what it calls looks like fried thin onion which will melt in hot items...
However...
Definitely was burnt.

My eldest sister ordered tom yum soup to share....

[caption id="attachment_234" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Tom Yum Soup"]Tom Yum Soup[/caption]

Not too sourish and no too spicy, taste good too.

So for this few items....
Do you want to know how it served?

[caption id="attachment_206" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Food in toilet bowl"]Food in toilet bowl[/caption]

Dig into the toilet bowl!

Don't think so much...
It's pretty fun!

I ordered a plate of spaghetti to share too...

[caption id="attachment_208" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Japanese Style Fried Spaghetti"]Japanese Style Fried Spaghetti[/caption]

Even though it's said Japanese, it surely taste Chinese...
Very tasty!
Fried with vegetables and served with a small slice of Unagi on top.

There's 2 Western dishes that we ordered....
I forgot the specific names for them...
One was sausage and one was kebab....

We ordered the sausage cause....

[caption id="attachment_238" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Sausages!"]Sausages![/caption]

Yeah...
It looks like shit!
But lucky enough it taste good with bit spiciness.

For the kebab was nothing special...
Lamb as you wonder, not really tender kind of dry too.

[caption id="attachment_239" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Kebab"]Kebab[/caption]

Dessert... Dessert...
Due to I don't feel full and craving for vanilla ice-cream, I decided to order the Donut Delight...
Lucky enough they do serve just vanilla, however as I told the waiter, NO CHOCOLATE....
Still, it's being served with Chocolate drizzle!

[caption id="attachment_217" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Donut Delight"]Donut Delight[/caption]

Good enough...
The ice-cream was real good...
Can't describe, but it's really good...
Not too creamy and not too sweet, smooth if I can say.

Next one...
Dragon fruit Sponge...
It's dragon fruit with raspberry sauce on ice shaved...
Maybe I was over joyed with the ice cream, so I just took some bites on the dragon fruit...
It's good, no worries!

[caption id="attachment_241" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Dragonfruit "]Dragonfruit [/caption]

I've taken few snap shots from the place....
So check it out...

Surprisingly.... with shocked...
It cost RM4.00....
My partner was like.. WOW! KL pricing...
And I thought the price hiked up cos it was late night...
But I was wrong.
Lucky enough...
It tasted good.

For the Hokkien Mee...
Why it was busy because beside the normal serving (chicken meat, eggs....)
They even served with fishballs, chicken feets, meatballs, roasted pork...
I ordered the roasted pork to go with the noodle.

[caption id="attachment_161" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Hokkien Mee @ Prawn Mee"]Hokkien Mee @ Prawn Mee[/caption]

We were expected it to be cost around RM6...
Pheww... RM4.50 with 3 slices of roasted pork...

I got myself char hor fun@yin yeung for KL people...

[caption id="attachment_162" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Char Hor Fun @ Yin Yeung"]Char Hor Fun @ Yin Yeung[/caption]

I forgot how the original taste of char hor fun before....
My mum luv this noodle the most...
It's bit burnt on the noodle, but I guess that's the "trademark" for it...
It's RM4.00...
Pretty reasonable.

See Kong Ooi Restaurant, Transfer Road @ Penang

I've been visit this restaurant for few times...
My parents kind of like this restaurant since their younger days...
So since my mum and I were looking for lunch...

[caption id="attachment_134" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Interior"]Interior[/caption]

We just want to have a quick lunch...
So we ordered something simple to munch it off!

As usual...
There will be kangkung belacan on the table...

[caption id="attachment_135" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Kangkung Belacan"]Kangkung Belacan[/caption]

For this dish, usually it will be bit dark/greyish colour as how the belacan colour be, however, for this time, it's orange colour...
I not sure what they add it in... but it tasted nyonya~

I so wanted to have assam fish...
So we ordered the assam ikan pari...

Ming Chow Bak Kut Teh, Off Kampar....

Raining season....
With chilling night crawling into the bones...
What to have to warm up the body?

While driving back to Penang...
I gave a lift to a friend of mine from Teluk Intan, who works in Gopeng...
She recommended to pit stop at a Bak Kut Teh which near to Gopeing.

She drove all the way off Kampar and reached the destination...
It was pretty pack on that raining night...

[caption id="attachment_127" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Signage"]Signage[/caption]

I was bit worried if the BKT turns out to be bitter taste...
I was not really into BKT that much during younger years as I tasted the bitter BKT which turns off my taste bud...
So I was pretty hesitated to try new ones.

[caption id="attachment_125" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Bak Kut Teh"]Bak Kut Teh[/caption]

Surprisingly...
The BKT in this place served pretty sweet...
And I was just indulging the soup more than my own rice!

We even ordered golden mushroom and pork intestine and stomach as it was not served in the first pot...
It was served with Chinese wine...
Not really into that, so I'd chucked all into the first pot and mixed it...
Least it tasted much better with the soup!

My friend ordered the Choy Sum with Oyster Sauce...
Not to bad too...
Pretty much of the stems than the leaves...
My furkid luv that pretty much! Ruff!

[caption id="attachment_126" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Choy Sum with Oyster Sauce"]Choy Sum with Oyster Sauce[/caption]

Besides BKT...
I spotted a pot of curry fish at the next of our table...
Smells pretty good too.

Had full tummy to continue our journey!
Will go back to try again if we ever got the time to turn over there!

BBQ King, 1Utama Shopping Center

On last Saturday...
My friends and I went over to Bandar Utama Central Park for the Cutie Pet's Fair...
My friend, Lou, was suggesting to have dinner at BBQ King... a place that I heard "NOT NICE" from my other friends.

Oh well....
Why not try it out?
While my friends queuing to get seated, my partner and I went for a walk.

My friends ordered the Family Set, consists of pork bacon, pork sliced meat and seafood plate.
For this set it's just RM 39.90, good to be true!

Another friend of mine,Meg, was saying that she luv the most was the sauce...
Well, that's true...
The taste of the sauce reminds me of the sweet sauce for the Vietnam cuisine.

[caption id="attachment_121" align="aligncenter" width="225" caption="The Sauce"]The Sauce[/caption]

Mix 3 ingredients in the sauce....
Want more sourish, get more lime...
Want more spicy, get more chili!

Garlic, Lime, Chili Padi...
Garlic, Lime, Chili Padi...

For the grill side, the provided the fat of the pork...
To "oil" up the hot plate...before start placing the meat to grill....
Besides that....
This way of BBQ Grill Steamboat much similar with the Korean Style Steamboat...
Hot plate, with a very very small space for the soup...
I prefer to have more soup!

Grill Grill Grill!!
Grill Grill Grill!!

Let's GRILL!!!!!

My friends, ordered us garlic rice...
Not sure why I didn't ate much of it...
I was more enjoying digging the soup!

Garlic Rice

It's smell nice with garlic fragrance, for those garlic luver, this is good!

I can't recall whether I was having jasmine green tea or green tea ice...
But what's best is, it's free refill!

Jasmine Tea Ice

It's not sweet...
So for mine, I squeezed some lime in it... yummy.

Burp....
Even though it might looks little...
But, it's really filling....
IF you luv cabbage!
They place lots of cabbage on both plates....
Good for 4pax!
