Food made from Heaven

Sunday 6 March 2011

At last I've MOVED.

OK, at last...
I've moved from se7ensins.blog.com to here...
And why I got to add another "s" behind the sins....
Cos someone already took this domain... (and not using it it!)

Anyhow, sins, always will be more :p

Rite...
Lesser crap, and shall start blog again!

I've got tons of places to introduce!

I might even forgot the prices too!

So read on!

P/S: I managed to import my blogs over here, but the page seems to me little bit "weird" and forget most of the comments over the blogs... most of them are spams but thanks to those who comments sincerely too!

Chailan, Rock Cafe Food Court, Kota Damansara

Kota Damansara...
1 - JAM
2 - FOOD

Who doesn't know KD is JAM most of the time...
But ever since they change bit of the main road...
Least is NOT THAT BAD anymore...

However, the inner side of the Sunway Damansara (the shop lots) had been changed to ONE WAY STREET...
Not a good IDEA, seriously.

Ok, let's talk about food...
A friend of mine told me about a stall at the Rock Cafe Food Court selling "cheap" steamed fish...
As a fish lurver... of course I would want to go for a try...
She said RM10 for a steamed fish...
Good deal eh?

[caption id="attachment_1068" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Signage"][/caption]
The stall name is Chailan...
Just at the corner, behind.

They have a bunting stand menu to choose your food...
And we choose ours.

Y.i.k.e.s!

Of course, pictures are ALWAYS for illustration only.

We ordered steamed ayam kampung...
From the picture, it looks like those Chicken Rice, CHICKEN....
However...
[caption id="attachment_1069" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Steamed Ayam Kampung"][/caption]
Yup, steamed chicken.
Taste it's just so-so, not much comment.

I so lurve to intro this dish...
Mushroom with Broccoli...
I got shocked when I saw the dish...
[caption id="attachment_1070" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Mushroom with Broccoli"][/caption]
Can you see... where is the broccoli?
HIAK!

I though of getting a pork dish...
And they have sweet and sour pork....
Why not to order it right?
Is it a pork or fish cakes?
[caption id="attachment_1071" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Sweet and Sour Pork"][/caption]
Taste was not bad, but I can't define is it a pork?!
Oh ya, 6 pieces only?

I guess the pleasant dish will be this one...
Steamed egg with lala...
[caption id="attachment_1072" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Steamed egg with lala"][/caption]
Even though that it has only 6 lalas in it, but the taste is not too bad, just salty.

Ah.. here's the fish!
Talapia fish...
[caption id="attachment_1073" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Steamed Talapia"][/caption]
For RM12 to get this dish, is well spent I guess...
Taste was ok too...

I can't really describe the taste as I was sort of disappointed?
But hey, it's cheap, can't ask too much right?

GULP IT!

$ - RM46

Price Range: RM 6 - RM 12
Good For : Cheap dishes meal
Bad For : Is really food court standard, want a good one - Go to proper restaurant!

Resto Tradisi Indonesia, E@Curve (Cineleisure)

Ok.. when comes to "rushing"....
Whatever food place in front, can just swallow it in...

Since the interior was not that bad....
We went in and have a seat (bench-table kind of look)

If you might remember, I'm totally not a big fan of Indonesian food...
But what the hack...right?

When I first sat on the table...
I saw this!
[caption id="attachment_1061" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Teh Botol"][/caption]
Right, not like I did try before....
Saw this "brand" when I was in Bandung....
*do miss the place sometimes.....*

Ok...
Menu...
Even though it still spell ABCDE...
I don't really understand the meaning of the items though... funny to read too!
[caption id="attachment_1063" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Menu"][/caption]
We just ordered something simple (which we could understand - they do have the description below the Indon's name)

My partner ordered the Soto Ayam...
[caption id="attachment_1064" align="alignnone" width="368" caption="Soto Ayam"][/caption]
Is not too bad....
Just the soup bit tasteless, even their sambal, can't kick off my taste bud for it.

Is quite nuts to order a catfish and rice.....
[caption id="attachment_1065" align="alignnone" width="368" caption="Catfish with rice (forgot the Indon name for this)"][/caption]
But hey, is the Indon's dishes....
The fish, frozen and straight deep fried (go figure)
The crackers .... have the OIL taste (don't know how to describe)
Tempe - totally not into this!

Basically, it can just fill up the tummy....
But not a good meal.

I thought of ordering their fishball - which I later got to know is 1pc RM2.50...
And the person in-charge said "Yes, is very expensive....."
1) If you know is expensive, why sell it?
2) If it's expensive, you don't need to make the tone of voice as if I CAN'T PAY FOR IT.

Trash it!

$ - RM23

Price Range : RM2.50 - GO COUNT THE BALLS!
Good For : Not even quick meal, as only got one guy who COOK!
Bad For : Price, Food, Service......

Restaurant Klang Bak Kut Teh Yip Yong, Kota Damansara

This shop was newly opened (I guess about 2 months?)
Located at Kota Damansara shop lots, with lots of other varieties of food..........
Since I lurve porky....
So we headed over to try out this BKT (as it's lot of people whenever we passed by)

[caption id="attachment_1053" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Signage"][/caption]

They have simple menu...
Bak Kut Teh (soup/dry), Chicken with Chinese Wine, Vege, Braised Pork Trotter, Mushroom with Chicken Feet, Sesame oil with Tofu...
[caption id="attachment_1046" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Menu"][/caption]

Something different here....
You can choose your own Chinese tea, and I do mean... choose...
They give you a basket of few packets of teas and you choose it.

Fill up the hot by yourself as well.... (so you won't get irritated if there's no one is free to entertain you to fill up the water!)

To have BKT..
You got to have chili padi (and garlic if you prefer...)
[caption id="attachment_1050" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="A Need (Rice, a lot of chili padi!)"][/caption]

Ok... we ordered....
Bo Lei Sang Choy a.k.a Lettuce Iceberg...
I nearly chocked....
[caption id="attachment_1052" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Lettuce Iceberg with Oyster Sauce"][/caption]
As a person who don't keen with sesame oil smell/taste (I don't mind to take it if the sesame oil aroma is covered with something else to prevent me from KNOWING the existent...)
This whole plate of vege.... was drown with the oil, pity.

We ordered BKT soup and dried (sorry I mis-out the picture of the dried)
[caption id="attachment_1051" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Bak Kut Teh (Soup)"][/caption]
The soup, tasted burnt... the dried, is just tasted like what I made at home before... (black sauce, dried chili, lil sugar, soya sauce and meat... you got one dish...)

Alright....
I don't enjoy this BKT (obviously....)
The taste... (well, different people different taste.....)
And this is not what I was expecting.

EAAAKKKK........

$ - RM 34.80

Price Range : RM 5 - RM 16
Good For : Mmmmm..........
Bad For : Not worth it.

Belaga, Empire Subang

Today, I'm out with my colleagues and bosses for lunch...
(yeap, boss treat!)

When my direct boss told me we are going to Empire Subang...
Sort of a joy for me as I never been there before (it's a new mall, near to Subang Parade)

It's quite a nice mall for window shopping though...
Ok, back to the place of our lunch...
It's a Kelantanese owned restaurant...
[caption id="attachment_1036" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Signage"][/caption]
Belaga, Malay word for Pot.

It's pretty pack even though it was already 1.30pm..
Well, the restaurant not really spacious even though it looks big...
Maybe they seriously place too much tables and chairs...
And still it's not enough!

At the main entrance...
They placed few packets of Nasi Lemak and Nasi Tumpang...
The Nasi Tumpang quite unique packaging though...
[caption id="attachment_1030" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Nasi Tumpang"][/caption]
But it's quite pricey for the portion size....
Wonder how it taste and look from the inside...
Lunch, I need something HEAVIER!

At their display case...
There's few types of desserts...
One is named, Lompat Tikam..
Told my boss, JUMP STAB!
[caption id="attachment_1033" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Dessert"][/caption]

They even got puddings!
[caption id="attachment_1032" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Desserts"][/caption]
But due to it made from coconut milk...
SKIPPED!

Right...
We settled down, and ordered our own meals...
Just that we ordered a Nasi Dagang with curry beef to share....
[caption id="attachment_1040" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Nasi Dagang with curry beef"][/caption]
Mind you, I just tried the rice as I don't take beef...
And the rice tasted exactly like glutinous@pulut rice.

My tech manager ordered Nasi Lemak Special...
As he said, he don't know to order the food... except this....
[caption id="attachment_1039" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Nasi Lemak Special"][/caption]
Looks good though, I'm so thankful he let me snap the picture...
As he was very hungry!
The santan rice is in green colour instead of the usual white rice...
According to him, he said is good.... so I guess it should be!

Next, my another colleague ordered nasi kerabu with fish....
It's Ikan Kembong....
[caption id="attachment_1038" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Nasi Kerabu with Fish"][/caption]
Didn't manage to try on it, but the sauce should be the same as the one I'm having.

I had nasi kerabu ayam percik...
My sales guy from Kelantan teached me how to eat the rice properly...
Mixed the veges with the rice!
[caption id="attachment_1037" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Nasi Kerabu Ayam Percik"][/caption]
Yes, it tasted much nicer...
But sadly, I forgot that nasi kerabu contains with coconut items...
Oh well, wallop will do!
It's real good!

My PD colleague ordered curry laksa...
I tried on the soup....
[caption id="attachment_1035" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Curry Laksa"][/caption]
It's nice as its not oily and well balanced with the coconut milk.

It's quite a good experience to dine in here...
As I hardly take Kelantanese food...
To the extend my big boss was mentioning to have company dinner there...
Yum!

I should try Fried Rice Belacan next time, as my another director was saying it's so good that it tasted like Char Kuey Teow!

Till then, thanks boss for the lunch!

$ - Saw him took out RM200... (for bout 10 pax)

[caption id="attachment_1034" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Lighting"][/caption]

Price Range : RM5 - RM18
Good For : Authentic Kelantanese Meal
Bad For : LUNCH TIME! Full house! (it's a good thing for the business though!)

La Gomera Restaurant, Neo Damansara

This restaurant was "born" on 3rd of July this year...
Consider she's earlier than me 4 days, but later than me 27 years.

My sis and me saw the buntings at the roadside on the way home...
It's a great deal for BUY 3 FREE 1 Buffet...
So since it's my birthday, we planned to dine in there for a try.

It's located at Neo Damansara (in Damansara Perdana)
When we first turn in, we were looking for the place (in the car)
When I manage to SAW the restaurant....
Ended up us to parking (damn the way to parking is so swirling and low)
We thought that we could park "upper" level as we were in B3...
They don't even put a sign DO NOT ENTER at the way to the B2 (dumbarse)

Ok settled that off.
Parked the car at B3...
Eventually if you going over to this restaurant...
You can go to LG instead of G (I think)
As we were at G level, out from the lift turn left, there's a staircase to go down...
The restaurant is just there.

This restaurant is called "La Gomera"

[caption id="attachment_1021" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Signage"][/caption]

~

[caption id="attachment_1003" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Nice looking tiles"][/caption]

Right...
Honestly...
That night it was just 4 of us...
When we went in, it's empty...
I was hoping we made the right choice..
So I went in and look thru the buffet line and I was thinking...
It's not worth for the price.

Till, the lady told us, there's the kitchen area behind for tapas, pizza, pasta...
WOAH.
That, changed my mind.
We settled down and check out the kitchen and the buffet line.

[caption id="attachment_1022" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Dining Area"][/caption]

~

[caption id="attachment_1004" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Buffet Spread"][/caption]

~

[caption id="attachment_1002" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Salad Spreads"][/caption]

~

[caption id="attachment_1012" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Appetizer"][/caption]

~

This is the corridor...
Which bring you pizza, pasta and tapas......

[caption id="attachment_1020" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Passage To Heaven :P"][/caption]

It's bit smokey though after they started to cook.

On the tables there's clips of the table number...
Just place it in the bowl for your order...

[caption id="attachment_1013" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Place in orders"][/caption]

You got served!

I settled down with salads and vegetable soup for starter...
Great man explained some of the items on the buffet line... (sorry, I think he's the owner)

[caption id="attachment_998" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Salads"][/caption]

Maybe I don't know about Spanish salad, I not too keen with the one look like bread.

The soup tasted like minestrone soup (minus the tomato paste)
I had this 2 bowls!

[caption id="attachment_999" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Vegetable Soup"][/caption]

Is good!

My sister took the "local" dishes for a try...
The fried bihun looked dry and taste dry as well...

[caption id="attachment_1000" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Fried Bihun, Fried Rice, Drumstick (with not sure what sauce)"][/caption]

Fried rice is alright and same goes to the drumstick.
I can't recall the actual name for this dish...
Sort of fried rice with seafood, there's a name for this (sorry I forgot)

[caption id="attachment_1001" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Seafood"][/caption]

Is good, the seafood is fresh, I took the baked fish from another "pot"...
I don't like it at all! Very funny taste (sorry if I don't know how to appreciate it)
Ok, since I don't take beef...
My sister's bf tried it and he said is ok (he ate 2 of it)

[caption id="attachment_1006" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Sirloin"][/caption]

So as my sis told us, HE LURVE IT....
Means, is good cos he is a very fussy eater (VERY)
We tried the lamb as well...
I got one just for myself too...

[caption id="attachment_1007" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Grilled Lamb with Black Pepper Sauce"][/caption]

Is tender, just a little bit salty.

My dear ordered clams...
Looks like the Chinese "seong tong lala"

[caption id="attachment_1008" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Clams"][/caption]

However, this shall be the Spanish style, minus the Chinese wine.
I shall say that, I quite like this dish :)
Trust me...
They are not stingy with their seafood....
I though that for buffet, maybe 1 prawns few squids will do the tricks...

[caption id="attachment_1009" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Spaghetti Marinara"][/caption]

I can see seafood more than the spaghetti though!
This is good, my sister said that SHE HATE THIS PLACE...
Because, they MADE WAY BETTER PASTA THAN HERS (of course!)

Great man was so kind to make us Aglio Olio as it's not in the list....

[caption id="attachment_1010" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Aglio Olio"][/caption]

It was tasteless at first, but the more you eat (add in their green colour sauce)
Is good!

Surprisingly, they brought over a platter...
Seafood platter, I was away from the table...
And they told me that, the waiter said is from the buffet list as well....

[caption id="attachment_1017" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Seafood Platter"][/caption]

I checked from the menu, if this dish is same as in the menu...
This thing cost RM32!
Is very appertizing and tasted with "seafood".
Yummylicious!

I not too sure the sausage is it spell as "Beuwert Beuwert"?
Is a funny name....(mind me)

[caption id="attachment_1018" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="German Sausage"][/caption]

I not too sure is it they cook too long that's why is soft...
But still...Very very soft tasty sausage!

They mention must try their own made sauce...
But the red ones smelled like rotten... (maybe it's supposed to smell like that?)

[caption id="attachment_1019" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="La Gomera "sauces""][/caption]

But the green ones is ok, made from garlic, i think same goes to the red ones.

For the whole night, it was just us...
And we been given a great customer service...
Maybe because, there's only US.

It's good, as it's my birthday and I want something special (ahem)
For a new restaurant, this is good to try out.

I hope, the standards will stay on even they are full house and busy...
Don't drop the standards!

For this time, I've included contact and map for this place (for the first time!)
Because I feel that this restaurant need lots of support to stay long...
And they are worth to stay on as well!

[caption id="attachment_995" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Map to the Location"][/caption]

~

[caption id="attachment_996" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Contact"][/caption]

Tenji, Solaris Mont Kiara

It's my birthday..... this is my day!

Well, eventually there was no plan for the night before my birthday...
My dear brought me over to TENJI for dinner.

Great choice!
[caption id="attachment_973" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Signage"][/caption]

My dear were scrolling around the net for info and all...
It was 8 plus so we went over to try our luck to see we manage to get any seats or not.

When we arrived there... we been told to wait till 9.30pm...
To get a cheaper price so we waited to get the SUPPER PACKAGE...
[caption id="attachment_974" align="alignnone" width="207" caption="Buffet Price"][/caption]
*sorry for the blur picture*

Ok, we been told to seat at the "waiting area" while there's another 5 minutes to be 9.30pm...
[caption id="attachment_977" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Waiting Area"][/caption]

But didn't being inform that we got to line up and get the table number...
[caption id="attachment_976" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Get Your Number"][/caption]
So ya, those who came later than us, get the number first.

After that, before you get to eat...
Do make payment....
[caption id="attachment_975" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Make Payment First"][/caption]
They afraid you ran off maybe?

When you enter...
You are being welcome by...
A nice looking FREE FLOW bar!

At the side will have some items as in stalls...

Trust me....
Most of the SEAFOOD being served are fresh (oh well, some of the items are kept for next day usage, I guess)
We've tried most of the items, except the pasta, udon mee.

At our table, we have our clips...
This clips to use for placing orders at the counter (you don't need to wait while they preparing your dishes)
[caption id="attachment_989" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Our Table Number"][/caption]
And least, you can enjoy the other food.

Ahhh.. steamboat....
Ala-carte, it will cost you about RM30?
Here, choose the items and boiled!
[caption id="attachment_990" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Sukiyaki"][/caption]
You can choose miso soup or tomyum to go with it.

For dessert wise...
They have a lot of cakes and pastries!
[caption id="attachment_992" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="My Birthday "CAKE""][/caption]
Even they have Baskin, Haagen and another type of ice cream to serve.

Worth for the money!

Shall go there again... soon, I hope!
