Restaurant Krua Thai, Kepong

Chiangmai... Chiangmai!!!



Oh well, I don't need to fly over to Chiangmai to taste their origin food!
Whenever I went over to Kepong to see my dad, there's time that asking "what to eat?"...
So, to be easier for last week's dinner, just said... "Thai Food".

It's located behind the Petronas Station before heading to Carrefour...
Don't really have the specific address for this place, it's just at one of the shoplots...
When turn to the Petronas, turn to the left and go all the way straight...
Just have to look out for the restaurant.

We've been in this particular restaurant for few times...
So, I decided to snapped some pictures and blog about it.

What's so different about this restaurant compare to other Thai Restaurants?
Well, most of the staffs are Thais, the other restaurants more to either local or other countries foreigners like the Nepal, the Myanmar (even thought both countries are near to each others, but that doesn't click!)

The owner for this restaurant are headed from Chiangmai itself, so, that's make the uniqueness for this restaurant.
It's not those fancy 5 stars restaurants, it's just a simple average restaurant that welcome anyone to dine in.

One thing unique about the serving is their rice...
Normally some Thai Restaurants will serve their rice in a big bowl to share or will just serve by the normal size bowl...
For this particular restaurant, they serve as how they cooked the rice.

I love vegetables, but I much more enjoy with Asparagus...
Some people they don't like asparagus due to the smell... is there any?
For the lovers of asparagus and spring onions, this dish is a must have...
Served with spring onion and prawns with asparagus...
Delicious delicacy!

As for the special dish of Thai...
Pandan Chicken must be on the dining table...
I guess, it's really their specialty?

The taste of the chicken, I assumed it's marinated with coconut milk or cook with the shredded coconut meat.
It's served with the Thai Sauce.

One of my favourite dish in this restaurant is the Thai Style Deep Fried Fish with Nam Khun Soup and Vegetables....
Their Nam Khun Soup, it's quite similar with the taste of assam and bit of tom yum style as it's served in sourish flavour.
The vegetables which served are more to Chinese Cabbage and Coriander leave.

Eventhough the fried fish was being soaked with the soup (the soup will only be served by pouring on to the fish in front of the customers)
The fish crispiness did not really went off, the fish meat were still intact.
For me, I just can't stop digging on the soup!



I'm not a big fan of salted fish...
So only my dad was the one indulged on this particular dish...

Not much taste of the salted fish....
Still...
It's there... so, I skipped on that dish!

This is the most general dish of all...
Fried Omelet with onion, it's way too fried as you can see the texture of the egg.

It's good to go with family and friends for this particular restaurant...
Price are affordable too.

Will go back again, definitely.

Price Range: RM5-35 (on individual dish)
Good For : Taste the original Thai Food, affordable
Bad For: Fancy for a nice restaurant for celebration or candle light dinner, this is not the place to be.
