To the land of cheap beers, cheap tobaccos, mountain of chocolates....
My dad recommended my mum and I to have Thai food as lunch.
He drove us to Restaurant Wan Thai which located in Kuah Town (not sure the exact location though)
It's pretty much very the "Thai" and most of the staff here are Thai Malays (won't be surprised as Langkawi is Thailand's neighbour)
[caption id="attachment_313" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Restaurant Wan THai"][/caption]
[caption id="attachment_314" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Interior"][/caption]
[caption id="attachment_318" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Menu"][/caption]
What attracts me was the display case which was nearby our table at that time....
[caption id="attachment_319" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Display case"][/caption]
[caption id="attachment_320" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Display Case"][/caption]
Pretty cute to have those display in it.
While we deciding what to have...
They serve free flow of ice/warm water...
So you can skip off order drinks if you want to!
[caption id="attachment_317" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Free Flow Ice Water/Warm water"][/caption]
So my parents ordered most of the dishes...
Oh well, it's not hard to guess my favourite dishes.
I ordered myself orange mixed apple smoothies....
[caption id="attachment_338" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Orange Smoothies"][/caption]
Well, much prefer with just JUICE. :P
They ordered tom yum seafood soup...
Consists of prawns, squids, fish.... and pretty HOT and SPICY too!
[caption id="attachment_332" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Tom Yum Seafood"][/caption]
Very have the "umphh" for the tom yum...
See the fish meat!
[caption id="attachment_337" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Tom yum soup, with fish!!!"][/caption]
Of course if you can't stand on spicy, you might got to skip this!
Kangkung Belacan!
It's like most of the time whenever I dine, must include this dish?
Well, it's my favourite dish as well as asparagus...
Just that due to digestion problem, only once in a while I have this!
[caption id="attachment_334" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Kangkung Belacan"][/caption]
Very good with this dish though, not strong of belacan (if they really did cook with it)
I just keep indulging my rice with the dishes...
Especially with the fish that my dad ordered!
[caption id="attachment_336" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Siakap with 3 flavours"][/caption]
And I forgot how many plate of rices I had!
The fish was deep fried and then served with gravy which were sweet, sour and spicy (not really spicy, no worries)
A must have dish!
And of course...
Omelet
[caption id="attachment_335" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Fried Omelet"][/caption]
It's serious FRIED omelet...
It's crunchy, however it's very oily too.
Look at the oil which left on the plate....
[caption id="attachment_339" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="The oil from the egg..."][/caption]
You can use it to fry another egg or even vege with it!
When we were about to finish our meal...
The waitress gave us watermelon as our dessert...
[caption id="attachment_340" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Fruits"][/caption]
Good hospitality!
$ - RM91.50
I've asked my mum...
What's the rate she giving on the meal, so I will just vote according to it!
Price Range: RM3.50 - RM40
Good For: Thai food lovers!
Bad For: Can't take spicy, head to other restaurants!
Vote: 4/5

Restaurant K.Intan, Jalan 17/10 @ PJ
This particular Wantan Mee's shop was introduced by my partner's mum...
She said that this shop were in the newspapers before and yet to try...
So one fine weekend we went over to this place...
It's one of the shop lots in Seksyen 17.
When we reached over there it's about 2.30pm, they close at 3pm for their break and continue back business at 6pm.
In front of their stall (they got the whole shop for their own...)
It's stated Handmade Noodle...
[caption id="attachment_309" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Stall"][/caption]
We tried it off...
The noodle maybe to me "ala-al dante" I prefer more softy noodle...
However it tasted good, especially the char siew.... well done~
[caption id="attachment_302" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Wantan Mee with mushroom and chicken feet"][/caption]
They even served siu yuk@roasted pork...
I much more prefer the char siew though... : )
[caption id="attachment_308" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Siu Yuk @ Roasted Pork"][/caption]
Basically, they only serve wan tan mee....
[caption id="attachment_311" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Menu"][/caption]
With different ingredients, with different pricing too...
However, it's good to try on this!
$ - RM25
Price Range: RM3.80 - Rm6
Good For: Quick lunch
Bad For : If you looking for something else in this shop, head to other shops nearby, they only serve wan tan mee!

Ah Or Chu Yuk Fun (Pork Noodle), Sunway Mentari @ PJ
For a pork luver myself...
Who believe that if not enough of pork meat, I will fall sick (lame...)
For a person who born in the year of Pig...
Should luv pig more (yes I do, and I look like a pig too...)
On Monday, I went over to Sunway Mentari to look for a friend of mine...
She said that there's a pork noodle shop at the back of her working place...
So she guided me to there.
I saw a shop of Chinese stalls at the corner...
So I thought was there...
Till she walk over to the SHOP itself...
I looked up to the signage...
Ah Or Chu Yuk Fun...
Wow... just selling pork noodle?!
So while I walked in pass the place that they prepare for the noodle...
The "stall" wrote in Chinese which stated "PENANG".
Oh well, another Penangite wannabe,I'd thought.
My friend said, since I'm from Penang so I should try on the pork noodle...
Well, I hardly eat pork noodle back in Penang... (I got home cook food though...)
However, I luv pork noodle so much, so I WILL TRY!
It looks like the usual pork noodle you get from other stalls...
[caption id="attachment_294" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Pork Noodle"][/caption]
As people says...
You want to know how good the meal will be...
Try the soup first...
So I did...
It taste so good....
Of course, it tasted "porky"....
And I mean, very porky and taste of the pork lard oil...
That's THE BEST PART OF IT!
[caption id="attachment_295" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Spare parts"][/caption]
I ordered, LARGE....
So of course the ingredients I had...
It's more!
However...
It's bit pricey for a normal pork noodle...
Of course, with such big shop...
They needs to survive...
Lucky enough, their food it's good to sustain their patrons.
Besides selling pork noodle...
They also sell pork noodle (dry),pork porridge, pork stomach soup, pork trotters vinegar and chicken rice? :P
[caption id="attachment_296" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Menu"][/caption]
Haven't try the others yet...
So shall go back there and try again (someday!)
But I doubt I will miss out the pork noodle if I order something else!
By the way...
The owner indeed a Penangite....
Ho liao, ho ciak!
Wa sukak!
$ - RM13.70 (did take away one small packet for my younger sister, ordered leung sui and ice tea for drinks)
Price Range : RM4.80 (s), RM5.50 (L) - Pork noodle (soup/dry), Porridge
RM 6 - Pork Trotter Vinegar, Pork Stomach Soup
RM 4.50 - Chicken Rice
Good For: PORK LUVER!!!!
Bad For : If you luv pork, but not really can stand the porky smell, skip this!
Vote: 4/5
*thanks Meg for recommending this place* oink oink~

Wan Tan Mee, Jonker Street @ Melaka
Since I was in Melaka Town...
Of course I wouldn't miss to visit Jonker Street despite a lone ranger....
I was craving for wan tan mee a night before, so was hunting for one if I can get.
I walked all the way to the back, there's a road which the street selling noodles and all...
So I head in and found a wan tan mee stall at a coffeeshop...
I ordered one to go...
Since that guy asked me whether want chili or not, without hesitate I said,"YES".
Wrong answer.
I should had check what type of chili, that he going to put in.
Is chili-sauce, the ones that use for dim sum, I supposed.
[caption id="attachment_289" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Wantan Mee"][/caption]
And surprised to know, the wan tan mee is in white colour instead of the normal black sauce...
It's look more like the Sarawak noodle.
So, least without the chili sauce...
It tasted not too bad to try it...
However, since the whole packet looks more red than ever....
[caption id="attachment_290" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Wan Tan Mee with chili sauce"][/caption]
I got to trash it!
It taste really weird for me!
So, next time...
See what is it only answer a question!
$ - RM3
Price Range - RM 3 and above....
Good For - Hungry night...
Bad For - Make sure you don't put chili sauce in it, it taste... yuck!

Amigo Steak & Grill, Taman Melaka Raya @ Melaka
I was down at Melaka for the weekend due to work...
Got to attend an event at the MITC @ Ayer Keroh and stayed at the Golden Bay Hotel at Taman Melaka Raya, which the distance bout 25-30 minutes drive.
There's a restaurant nearby the hotel which my dad's colleague mentioned the steaks are good, not bad environment, so on so forth.
So since I was alone that night and not quite sure what to eat, I headed over to this particular place...
Amigo Steak & Grill.
From the main road can obviously see the restaurant as it's pretty red in colour (due to the lighting)...
It's situated behind the hotel that I'm staying, and to be exact location if you know well about Melaka, there's a clubhouse with ALOHA club attached, just opposite it.
[caption id="attachment_284" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Amigo Steak & Grill"][/caption]
This restaurant pretty much families restaurant...
However, it's good to hang it out with friends too.
I was checking out on the menu...
Was surprised to know that besides serving steak (western), they served Japanese food as well...
My oh my... how could that click?
From my seating, I could see the "Japanese Chef" preparing Tepanyaki meals....
So it does exist over the counter.
[caption id="attachment_274" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="The menu"][/caption]
From sushi to Tepanyaki to the California Roll, you name it...
You got it.
[caption id="attachment_276" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Japanese Food"][/caption]
Since Christmas is around the corner...
They created Christmas Menu for the western and the Japanese food.
[caption id="attachment_275" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Christmas Menu"][/caption]
It's about Rm25 and above per set, I not sure whether consist with drinks or not...
Didn't see that in the picture!
So back to the "normal menu"...
They served western, Japanese and Asian as well.....
Western you got steaks, chicken chop and all...
Japanese, as stated....
Asian, seafood char kuey teow, cheese baked rice....
Ahhh... stopped it right there....
Since I craving for rice, and would like to have some cheesy in my tummy...
I ordered that.
I was surprised, that the portion was not BIG...
So I was worried it won't fill me up as well as from the "look" of it...
It doesn't look delicious too...
[caption id="attachment_286" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Seafood Cheese Baked Rice"][/caption]
However...
I was surprised that it's fried rice, with non-really-melted cheese on top...
Oh well... I just scooped it up and eat...
The taste, was good.
No kidding...
Of course I wouldn't say that it's so darn delicious oh yummy....
But, it's good enough!
Since I can't eat too much cheese, so this is good enough for me...
As it's not really that melted, so I can just scoop it by portion rather than whole spoon it's cheese.
I ate half....
And I was full!
Weird huh?
I ordered the Ice Lemon Tea for myself..
From the colour, oh well, it's cordial....
[caption id="attachment_283" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Ice Lemon Tea"][/caption]
But I was surprised to know that, it does had a few squeeze of lemon juice in it...
Taste good~
[caption id="attachment_280" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Christmas Christmas!!"][/caption]
[caption id="attachment_281" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Environment"][/caption]
Even though from the pictures its look empty...
But it's just an angle problem...
It's full house that night!
Pretty good business for them I must say!
Will come back with my friends some day and try the other things in the menu!
$ - RM12.50
Price Range : RM 2.50 - RM 50

Tasty Pot, Sunway Mentari @ PJ
Rainy days....
What goods for rainy day?
Bak Kut Teh, yummy... pork!
Steamboat, a wiser choice!
My friend told us to go over to the Tasty Pot at Sunway Mentari...
She said she luv the tom yum over there...
But she was sick so we choose on the tomyum and porridge base.
Basically...
Porridge... was more to water instead of having the "rice" in it...
The tom yum was bit spicy, but it's good to indulge.
[caption id="attachment_267" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Half porridge (water) half tom yum"][/caption]
For the price well..
It's bit pricey though...
And it's bit funny on how they charge for children too!
[caption id="attachment_270" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Price Range"][/caption]
The varieties of course not that bad...
I even saw big claws for mud crabs, however, was not fresh according to my friend who took some of it.
[caption id="attachment_269" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Buffet Counter"][/caption]
Basically...
I not sure what to say about this place...
I still prefer Yuan if I got to choose between this 2 places especially about the pricing and taste.
Price Range: RM26.80 (adult) ; RM13.80 (children)
Good For: Cold chilling day
Bad For: ...........it's not really taste that good though... :P
Vote: 2.5/5

I Love Yoo (cha kuey)
I luv porridge.
I indeed can survive by just eating porridge, but of course without peanuts...
I just don't like peanuts not that I allergy with it...
One fine night...
I was with my partner at Ikano to help a friend of ours shop for a table in IKEA...
We both came across a restaurant selling porridge and other items...
So we thought of heading it back there after we settled with our friends.
So back to the restaurant...
I went over to the counter which sells porridge with fried items like ham chin peng, yao char kwai that kind of things...
I saw 2 sets, SET A is porridge with char kuey and I forgot what SET B was... soya bean?
So I dig into my plain porridge and surprised to know that it was oyster porridge, of course, without the oyster...
And served with a twin of yao char kwai....
During that cold weather, having porridge was a splendid enjoyment!
With no reason....
I was kind of addicted to this meal...
I was thinking to go back there again...
One fine day...
I was thinking for few hours what should I have for lunch since it was bout 3pm in 1Utama...
Till I saw this shop again...
Without hesitation, I just walked to the counter and again, ordered the SET A
[caption id="attachment_261" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="The Brand"][/caption]
My luvly SET A, a bowl of porridge with yau char kwai....
[caption id="attachment_260" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="Set A"][/caption]
Without fail...
I've filled up my hungry stomach!
And indeed, I'm still craving for it....
Wonder why...
Want to know how much is this SET?
$- RM3.90 without drink!
Go and try, yummy...
Good for breakfast and teatime if you want it!
Price Range: RM2-RM5 (I guess)
Good For: Budgeted for quick Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner!
Bad For: Porridge comes in a small bowl, if you are too hungry, you might got to grab 2 bowls!
Vote: 4/5 (for the SET A, of course!)
